When Elizabeth spots a small wooden soldier doll at a local garage sale, she feels compelled to find its original owner. Unbeknownst to her, the doll has quite a history, having been passed from hand to hand during moments of hope and sadness many times since it was first given by a young British woman to her fiancé as he left to fight in the First World War.
